Michael Conforto

LOS ANGELES - Michael Conforto has hit countless times in the last 15 hits when he walked to the batsman's box in the eighth inning Thursday, tied with the Los Angeles Dodgers looking to play four games against the New York Mets. His average hit average was a year, with a $17 million contract, down to .162. Whenever he appears, the family crowd starts booing.

Conforto then got the hit song he's been yelling out - a two-time single that gave the short-handed Dodgers a 6-5 victory.

This is the first blow to Conforto in the scoring position since March 31.

“Thus far, it’s been a wear and tear,” Conforto said. “All I have to do is go there and help us win, and in many cases, I’ve had very little. It’s all done today.”

Landon Knack was forced to spin along with Blake Snell, Tyler Glasnow and Roki Sasaki, all breastfeeding shoulder injuries, putting the Dodgers running at 3-0 holes in the first three innings, during which time he provided home runs for Starling Marte, Brandon Nimmo and Red-Hot Pete Alonso.

But the Dodgers are back against Reed Garrett at the bottom of the eighth inning. Mookie Betts took the lead and scored on Will Smith's left field line. The Mets made another serious turnover after two hitters - after Nimmo spun two nights in Freddie Freeman's walking doubles and two innings, after Marte was abandoned by Smith's backup draft pick.

Andy's page hit third when it opened on the contactor. Smith flew to the home and stopped abruptly, assuming he would be eliminated, and then slipped with the kidnapping after Brett Baty's throw away from Mets catcher Francisco Alvarez. After three batsmen were deliberately walking in the Metropolis, Conforto ignited a dodge stadium crowd at the 110.8 mph line on the left center field, becoming increasingly angry as his slow start.

"Hopefully we can say that this is a turning point for him," said Dodgers manager Dave Roberts.

Conforto hopes so, and he hopes so.

"These are the types of bats that get you going," Conforto said. Conforto said he compiled the 17.9 Fanggraphs victory while the Mets were on the 2015-2021 win and became an All-Star team with the Mets. It was a big moment for me to get your monkeys to score with runners and stand out on the team, which is more important than me.

After meeting in last year's National League Championship Series, the Dodgers and the Mets faced each other seven times in 13 days. The Mets won four victories, but the team ran only seven times. All other games except one game are determined by three or fewer games. Three, including two of this week, entered an extra situation.

The Dodgers (38-25) have 15 pitchers on the injured roster, including 3 frontline starters and 5 high-leverage rescuers. But the Mets (39-24) are not complete either. Their most important starters, Frankie Montas and Sean Manaea, are on the injury list. Juan Soto is just starting out.

"They could be arguably a better team, and they're still getting men out, so they might be better than that," Bates said. "I'm sure we'll see them on the way."
