Mexico's security chief confirms cartel family members reach agreement with Trump administration

Mexico City - Mexico's security chief confirmed Tuesday that 17 family members of the cartel leader crossed the United States last week as part of a deal between the son of the former head of the Sinaloa cartel and the Trump administration.

Mexican Security Minister Omar García Harfuch

Guzmán Lopez is a sibling who was imprisoned in the infamous Capo Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, who was imprisoned in the United States video, indicating that the video shows families from Tijuana walking across the border with their suitcases, waiting for American agents.

Last week, there were rumors that the young Guzmán would plead guilty to avoid trials on several drug trafficking charges in the United States after being extradited in 2023.

García Harfuch confirmed the family’s crossing in a radio interview and said it was clear that Mexican authorities were doing so after negotiations between Guzmán López and the U.S. government.

He believes the fact is that the former cartel boss (former cartel boss) said in January that he had negotiated with U.S. authorities and he had been pointing his finger at other criminal organizations that might be members of the cooperation agreement.

"It's obvious that his family will go to the United States due to negotiations or the proposal given to him by the Justice Department."

He said that the Mexican authorities do not have a family member and that the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump “must share information with Mexican prosecutors” and that has not done so.

García Harfuch's confirmation was announced by the U.S. Attorney General's Office that, for the first time, the U.S. Attorney General's Office announced that it would accuse "nestant terrorism" from many cartel leaders since the Trump administration announced several cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.

When prosecutors declined to comment on home videos, U.S. Attorney Adam Gordon was in southern California, other officials warned the cartel members and repeatedly named them after Sinaloa.

Gordon said: “Let me be the leader of the Sinaloa cartel directly, you are no longer a hunter, you are a hunter.
