NEW YORK (AP) — Cody Bellinger lifted a high altitude to Deep Right Field, and Juan Soto positioned himself in front of an unfriendly Yankee Stadium crowd and fell into a shortage.
The entire subway series was summarized.

On a disappointing return to the Bronx, Soto was booed all weekend while Bellinger sent out several big hits to help the New York Yankees get their title rivals.
Bellinger hit a breaking Grand Slam Sunday night, slamming Soto's range on the wall, while the Yankees beat the New York Mets 8-2 to home with a three-pointer in the first-place matchup.
"I think it's fun." Bellinger equals career highs to six RBIs in the finale of his first Subway series. "I really like it."
Soto probably doesn't. He scored four points with two strikeouts out of the 48,028-man sold-out crowd. He scored him one-point one-time in the Bronx's first series since the Yankees signed a $765 million 15-year contract with the Mets.

After the game, Slugger did not talk to the club's reporters.
Yankees star Aaron Judge said: "It's nice to see him, but we're glad we kind of - either take him away or let him do anything, especially in this series."
Bellinger was acquired by the Chicago Cubs in a December trade to help replace Soto's powerful bat in the outfield. After a slow start, the two-time All-Star selection and the 2019 NL MVP fell into a major tear on the plate.
“He sways on a court that needs to be swing, and his balance is what it takes,” said Yankees manager Aaron Boone. “I really think it’s simple.”

Bellinger's father, Clay, won three American League titles and two World Series titles from 1999 to 2001, and has hit .340 with three home runs, six RBIs and .980 OPS since May 3, which is a 13-game hit percentage.
"He was just waving the bats in the last few games and when I hit that guy behind me, I loved it," the judge said. "I just thought his approach was a little better. He knew what he was looking for when he got what he was looking for, and he didn't miss it."
Bellinger ended up triple-fold on a perfect night on Sunday with three walks on a perfect night on Sunday. His two consecutive doubles in the first inning gave the Yankees a 2-0 lead, and his ninth career in left-handed rescuer Génesis Cabrera beat the eighth and defeated six games to make the game stand out.
"He's the same every day. I think he's obviously experienced enough in this league right now, and he's gone through everything," Boone said. "He's gone through being the best player in the league and winning the MVP. He's gone through struggles. He's gone through a career change and dealing with the hurt behind the scenes and keeping evolving.

“You’ll find that this experience is like he’s flying high or going through rough places, just sticking to his process and his daily work and the same person.”
Bellinger also lost 3-2 to the Mets and finished seven points with two home runs, three walks, four runs and seven RBIs in the series, and 11 points and 11 points.
"He can hit home runs, he can stifle and hit the ball the other way around, and he has the ability to fight some very tough courts, especially two strikes," Yankees Ace Ace Max Fried said. "You can turn on this two-shot method, and it's hard to make sure when you have someone with good bat-to-ball skills, or it can be such a deep threat. They have to throw a very good ball."
