Andrew Weitz, a fashion consultant and men's fashion expert, directed a company called Weitz Fellive, who recently called a call from a client on a European itinerary on the horizon. The Country Jump schedule brings him from yachts and parties to formal events and beach clubs, while bold name clients need the right thread to match the environment.
It's a classic puzzle at this time of year, especially Globe-Trotters who work at R&R after the 2025 Cannes Film Festival (St. Tropez or The Monaco Grand Prix), anyone?
Below, Weitz offers his seasonal clothing tips, shouting some of his favorite brands to buy now and praise some of the movie stars.
What is your general strategy when clients say they are going to southern France or southern Mediterranean this time of year?
It's really about choosing the right style and fabric to help you adapt to this culture, which is very different. You don't want to look like an American when wearing board shorts, t-shirts, and flip-flops, like Capri or St. Tropez. Everything in these places is elevated, more stylish, elegant and timeless. I am now helping a client who is going to Ibiza, Provence and Saint-Tropez, who want to know what they should wear a series of activities, including a yacht. There is a very specific look that is not suitable for everyone. If you are a musician or athlete, you can escape in an oversized Dior shirt and matching shorts, but for some of my clients, that doesn't help. I like everything to be more elegant and stylish. So I talk to clients about fabric choices, so linen is always the best choice or linen blend. I like linseed mixtures or cotton because not everyone likes all linens.
Do you recommend any specific works?
I've been making custom pieces in my own labels - Andrew Weitz Custom - it's all tailored, which is great. I can knock out something in 24 hours if I need it and it can be any fabric. This is perfect for eager customers. I can use matching pants to make wool, silk or linen mixed casual blazers or grocery jackets. Pants are easier and more bulky. It's not thin, nor is it slim. It can be very stylish when you put it under the neck of the crew. If we were talking about brands, Zegna would have a lot of super beautiful pieces that we've been playing with. They have a linen rope pants with nice Johnny collar waffle texture polos. You can pair it with triple needle suspicion sneaky or shoulder cad cake or wide noodles, and you can be very elegant and low-key without even trying it.
I also like Isaia, which is a Naples brand, made for this style. They also have these luxurious linen suits that you can dress up or dress up. I also went to Berluti and Loro Piana and Ralph Lauren, where there were lots of beautiful colorful linens. Don't forget Orlebar Brown, which is perfect for a resort. Whether you're on a boat, hanging out or hanging out at a beach club, you can wear it, but you can also put it in a gap when you go out at night. Orlebar Brown is perfect for both.
Speaking of it lifting a notch, do you have any tips to recommend for working for the Cannes Film Festival and climate during the event?
Brunello Cuccinelli is obviously a brand that suits the aesthetics of the region, and they make beautiful tuxedoes. When the tuxedo brings, I look for something beautiful is wool silk, something light, curtains, the right color and shade for the season. This is when you can wear cream, white, beige, lavender and replace it. There are so many things you can do to mix it up. It's all about seasonal pastels, and if it's the right situation, you can include it in a black tie.
Do you think there are celebrities doing the right thing in terms of men’s style?
Seth Rogen has style, you can really see it's going through studio When he wears Brunello Cuccinelli, it just shows the beauty of the brand and how it fits into someone’s role, even on his red carpet. Ryan Reynolds always looks good, and so is Andrew Scott. His style is great. Chris Hemsworth knows what to do. (See below.) Aside from that, most people get help when it comes to executives and business entrepreneurs because you have this style of intuition, or you don't. If you don't, you'll get some help from the designer. If you get help from the right people, you will look great.
