Police say the bronze statue of Melania Trump was sawed off at his ankle and was stolen this week in the First Lady's Slovenia.
The statue replaced the end of the first term of Donald Trump in 2020, erected near her hometown of Sevnica, which was attacked and fired.
Both statues are a collaboration between Kentucky-based artist Brad Downey and local artisan Ayles "Maxi" Zupevc.
The original character is made of wood cut from the trunk of the Linden tree, depicting the first lady in a light blue dress, similar to the one she wore at Trump’s 2016 inauguration.

The new statue is placed on the same stump as the old statue and is modeled on the previous design. Downey said in July 2020 that the statue will be "as solid as possible," which is made of durable materials that cannot be destroyed wantonly."
Slovenian police spokesman Alenka Drenik Rangus said on Friday that police are investigating after reporting on vandalism and theft on Tuesday.

White House Press Secretary says Statue of Liberty has nowhere to go, answering French politicians
"I don't think anyone is proud of this statue, not even the first lady in the United States," Crangis said. "So, I think it's OK to remove it."
Zupevc said he and Melania Trump were born in the same hospital, partly inspired him to create the design. He carved the statue with a chainsaw and polished it with power tools.

“I plugged into my angle grinder.…I worked and made mistakes…haired…all eyes. That’s the case.
A plaque next to the statue says it is "a timeless memory dedicated to the Melania monument."
Born in 1970 at Melanija Knavs near Novo Mesto, the first lady grew up in Sevnica, while Slovenia was part of the former Yugoslavs under the communist rule. Slovenia is an alpine country with 2 million people and is now a member of the EU and NATO.
