The company is likely to want to keep Trump’s good attitude and avoid obstacles to its business, such as Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
McDonald's, for example, donated $1 million to Trump's second presidential inauguration, marking its first contribution to an inauguration fund in more than a decade.
In addition, McDonald's representatives, Wendy's,,,,, Yum Brand Other fast food companies reportedly met with Chavez Dreman before Trump’s inauguration to discuss key industry topics such as her sponsored pro-union legislation and joint employer rule, which stipulates the relationship between franchisees and franchisees.
At Monday’s event, McDonald’s and Chavez-Deremer celebrated the 10th anniversary of the company’s Opportunities and Opportunities program, which provides tuition assistance and helps employees achieve educational goals, such as obtaining a high school degree.
McDonald's and the wider restaurant industry often starts hiring raves to meet higher demands in the summer. Monday’s announcement set McDonald’s’ biggest recruitment target in years. The chain said when it reopened its restaurants in 2020 that it wanted to hire only 260,000 restaurant employees.

Before the 2024 presidential election, Trump often mocked Vice President Kamala Harris for claiming to be a McDonald's alum. McDonald's tried to avoid the fight and said in a statement that it was not a political brand and that there was no record of employment going back to the 1980s.
The latest hiring push is McDonald's opening more American restaurants. The company aims to add 900 new domestic locations by 2027.
