Air quality map shows conditions across the United States on Thursday Canadian wildfires Smoke is expected to continue to affect parts of the country, prompting air quality alerts and consultations in multiple states.

The map shows that as of early Thursday morning, parts of Michigan and Illinois were facing unhealthy air. Air quality index. Minnesota Wisconsin experienced unhealthy air earlier Wednesday and the previous days.

The air index has six ratings:

Sensitive groups include those with heart or lung disease as well as older people, children and pregnant women.

According to the National Weather Service, the National Weather Service has issued air quality consultations or alerts for several states including Wisconsin, Michigan and Illinois.

The Canadian Forest Fire Centre said that more than 200 fires burned in Canada, more than 100 of which are considered out of control. Thousands of residents in the three provinces have been evacuated due to the flames.
