Manchester United booed fans in the final whistle after losing 1-0 against the ASEAN All-Stars in Malaysia on Wednesday as the club's disastrous domestic sports continue to enter the playoffs
Amorim's side flew to Kuala Lumpur on Sunday after his final match of the season (a 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa) and ended the worst Premier League season ever with 15 points.
But a second-half strike from the Thai League 1 club Lanmon Warriors winger Maung Maung Lwin saw a team composed of international teams from Southeast Asia, with players from other local leagues denounced Manchester United's humble defeat at Bukit Jalil National Stadium.
Local supporters expressed dissatisfaction with the last whistle.
When asked about the fans' reactions, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim told reporters when asked about the reporter: "I always feel intimate, I said in the last game. I always feel intimate about the team's performance." "Anyway. Since I was here on the first day, I'm very intimate."
“Then the booing of fans is something we need, maybe because of every game we lose in the Premier League, they are always there. So, just like the way they see the game doesn’t work, they’re going to change the way they behave.
"But then I felt like we were over, walked away, and every time the supporters were with us. Again, let's wait for the next season."
The United boss named a very different team in the exhibition match, but André Onana, Harry Maguire, Manuel Ugarte and Rasmus Højlund were the players selected in his starting XI.
Alejandro Garnerjos.
Despite this, Manchester United has been waiting for its first straight win since March.
“Of course, we should be better,” Amorim added. “We’re slow and we have to let us win training and every practice every game.
"But it's important that we don't have any harm. Some players are at risk, but we want to respect all fans putting all players into the game. We should win those games, but we keep moving forward."
After the game, Amorim refused to be invited on the release clause that triggered Wolverhampton Rangers striker Matheus Cunha.
But Omar Berrada, the club's CEO, said they have a clear plan on how to improve the team this summer.
"I can't talk about the details, but I can say we've been planning for many months," Berrada told MUTV in Malaysia. "We've prepared for all the different situations and now know what we need to do.
"We have a very clear idea that we need to invest in the roster to improve. So, Jason (Wilcox), his team and Amorim (as I said, have been in talks for months."
United will play another game before the summer separation. Amorim's team will face the Hong Kong national team on Friday.
