Maika Monroe is regarded as a female teacher of killer Victorian psychologyZachary Wigon will direct production and financing Anton's psychological horror thriller.

Monroe joins Thomasin Mackenzie (Last night in Soho, Jojo Rabbit) In his previous work as Margaret Qualley.

The project adapted Virginia Feito's best-selling book, which also wrote the script. The story was set in 1858 as a female teacher named Winifred Notty, who hides her psychotic tendencies when she arrives at a remote Gothic estate. But when the woman cared for her allegations, the staff began to disappear inexplicably, and the owners of the estate began to suspect that it was too late if their new female teacher was serving with a tablespoon of sugar, with a little arsenic on the side.

Anton is fully funding for the film and is regaining international rights. United States rights are co-represented by Anton, UTA Independent Film Group and CAA Media Finance. Production is scheduled to begin in August this year.

Monroe has become one of the horror queen figures defined for the past two decades, producing a famous and creepy movie. She last starred in Nicholas Cage on last year's hit song Long legsis one of the most successful horror movies in the past decade. Last fall, she played the lead role of the twisted babysitter in a remake of 20th century Studios Shaking the cradle's hand.
