Lucy Liu and Stephanie HSU will receive honors at the Asian American Foundation’s (TAAF) Heritage Summit and Awards Dinner.
The two-day gathering from May 21 to 22 celebrates the vitality, leadership and growing impact of Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities. The summit convened voices from entertainment, business, public services and grassroots organizations that organized high-impact panels and discussions that shape a national dialogue on identity, inclusion, and intergenerational change.
“I’m honored to receive an award from the Asian American Foundation,” Liu said. “This is a tribute to Tiff’s vision of equity, representation, and lasting impact. I’m inspired by the strength and brilliance of the Asian American community every day, and I’m committed to helping our voices expand our voices as we work together to shape a more just and empowering future.”
"I'm honored to receive the TAAF Award and celebrate people's honor in a full room, just to be Asian. There are so many ways in our community that have been successful over the past few years and I'm eager to continue to grow our reach in the industry."
Vivek Ranadivé (owner and chairman of the Sacramento Kings) will receive honors along with Liu Hehuo.
“I am honored to be recognized by the Asian American Foundation and thank you for the opportunity to attend this meaningful event,” Ranadivé said. “It is an honor to stand with many inspiring leaders who shape the future and inspire our community.”
In two days, keynote speeches and panels will be held with Tan France, Joe Tsai, Poorna Jagannathan, Shoba Narayan, David Henry Hwang, Pablo Torre, Juju Chang, Vicky Nguyen and others.
Fireside conversations with AANHPI athletes, actors, educators and media makers will explore Aanhpi’s representation in movies, TV and food.
At the summit, the Staatus index will be released for the leading national study of Americans’ perceptions of the Asian-American community and will conduct in-depth dives with Russell Jeung, professor at San Francisco State University, and will stop the AAPI Hate Hate Counter.
In a statement type, "Taaf's annual Heritage Month Summit provides a space for Asian American, Hawaiian and Pacific Islander leaders to proudly celebrate who we are, reflect on where we are, and revolve around the impact and challenges of our community, our theme is our collective strength. The majority of passionate advocates and talented leaders our community can offer."
