A convicted Los Angeles County rapist was allegedly killed by a prison inmate over the weekend, a surge in prison violence that claimed the lives of more than a dozen incarcerated people this year.
Renee Rodriguez, 51, died Sunday in Los Angeles County, California prison officials said, after staff saw inmate Kenneth Wilson attack him in a day room at 7:15 pm, with staff intervening with chemical and non-lethal weapons and trying to fulfill life-saving measures, but in external medical services, driving measures are corrective, which is corrective for corrective measures.
Wilson was placed in restricted housing, while the jail and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office investigated the attack.
Rodriguez's death is the second time he was suspected of murder over the weekend, and the fifth time this month has been reported. It is also the 13th homicide case in the state prison this year, and despite efforts by prison officials to cut violence, California reported more than twice the number of homicides of 24 inmates last year as of 24 crime homicides.
In March, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) began cracking in 11 high-security facilities, including Los Angeles County. At that time, seven suspected homicides were reported in the first nine weeks of the year.
From March 8 to April 11, prisoners were restricted from movement, phone calls and access were hanged at California River Valley State Highland Correctional Institute, California Correctional Agency Caliperia State Prison, California Kenya Prison, California Prison, California Prison, California Prison, California Prison, California Prison, California Prison, California Prison, California Prison, California Prison, California Prison, California Prison, California Prison, pelleia calley, pelleia calley, pelleia calley, pelleia calley, pelleia calley, pelleia calley, pelleia calley, pelleia calley, pelleia calley, pelleia calley, pelleia calley, pelleia calley, pelley salleage, department.
Department Secretary Terri Hardy said in a statement: “We recognize that revised plans have created difficult difficulties for loved ones for a limited time, but safety measures must be our top priority when violence at CDCR agencies threatens employees and incarcerated individuals.”
According to the CDCR, the restrictions were in place, but staff conducted extensive searches of all housing areas and seized more than 850 contraband, including 166 simple weapons, 159 cell phones and 65 hypodermic needles.
Despite this, the violence continues.
April 4, April 5, at the California Correctional Center, and April 8, at the Mulecrek State Prison in Salinas Valley State Prison. A prisoner was allegedly killed in Wasco State prison on March 14, and the facility is not a repression.
William Couste died two weeks after the restrictions ended in Larson County’s High Desert State Prison, allegedly attacked by inmate Rodger Brown in the yard, according to the CDCR.
Brown was sentenced to life imprisonment for the second-degree murder he received while incarcerated. He was also convicted of possessing a deadly weapon in prison for spouse identity injuries caused in prison, state prison officials said.
Several other prisoners were also life imprisonment for the murder this year, highlighting the ongoing problems in the prison system where inmates feel they have not lost more time to attack the inmates and they have no remaining losses.
David Gomez, who allegedly participated in Mario Campbell's death on January 15, once told a psychologist that the murder of his roommate in Sacramento in 2005 was a "free gift" because he was already in service.
According to the CDCR, Gomez is suspected of being accomplice in the attack, and Cody Taylor is also currently sentenced to life imprisonment for murder of prisoners.
Tyler Yates, another prisoner serving a prison sentence at a critical Sacramento office, was also under investigation for allegedly suspected of alleged homicide this year.
Last year, he was convicted of first-degree murder in prison.
