List of winners of Sony Future Filmmaker Awards 2025

Sony and Creo unveiled the 2025 winner of this year’s Sony Future Filmmaker Awards.

The 2025 winners include Rossana Montoya's “Columbia” in the fiction category, Juliet Klottrup's “Travelling Home” in the non-fiction category, Santiago O'Ryan and José Navarro's “Hermanos Casablanca” in the animation category, and Hayder Hoozeer and Franz Böhm's “Rock Paper Scissors” in the student category. The recipients were from June 2 to June 5 at Sony Pictures Studios) sent to Los Angeles for a four-day four-day industry program, where they met with industry leaders and executives. In addition to being flew to Los Angeles, the winners also received Sony Digital Imaging Equipment and Cash Prizes. The winners were announced at the Sony Future Filmmaker Awards ceremony in Los Angeles.

Recipients were selected by judges including Jason Reitman (“Juno”, “Saturday Night”), Minhal Baig (“Bojack Horseman”, “Hala”), Elizabeth Gabler (“Crawdads Sing”, “Life of Pi”) and Jury Jurosin Justin Chadwick (“crawdads Sing”, “bojack Horseman”).

After its founding in 2023, Sony's Future Filmmaker Awards were established to help bring the next generation of filmmakers into their careers early. This year’s winners were selected from 11,750 films submitted by more than 7,500 filmmakers from 158 countries and regions.

The collaboration between Sony and Clio hopes to continue to focus on emerging visionary people and expand diverse storytelling from around the world. The Sony Future Filmmaker Awards will return to its fourth edition in spring 2026 and will be available online in July 2025.
