Lewandowski talks about Champions League ambitions, future, flick, and may replace in Barcelona

Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski recently sat down with Mundo Deportivo and shared his thoughts on the club’s future, his ambitions and even the challenge of finding a final replacement.

The Polish forward remains focused on providing another strong season, while also addressing ongoing speculation about his long-term plan.

When asked about his desire to hold up the Champions League trophy again, Lewandowski was clear. “Yes, of course, it would be nice to win the Champions League again.” He said.

The striker reflects the team's past performances, including a painful exit from the International Front, and he believes Barcelona is the better side but misses the critical moment.

"In the end, we lost two goals, lost two goals, and then we scored three, but that wasn't enough to make it to the finals. I think we're better as a team, but there's something missing."

“If we are lucky, avoid getting hurt in big games, we can talk about our chances of winning,” he said. He added that maintaining the football-based reality.

Lewandowski admits it is hard to look too far. He is happy and healthy both physically and mentally focused on a strong season.

But when asked about possible move to Saudi Arabia or the United States, he honestly replied:

"I have to say I don't know right now. It's a lot of things, I'm physically good, I'm mentally good. I can say now what I want to do, but in football, we're talking about a year or more, it's a long time.

"As for now, I think the most important thing is that I'm preparing for a really good season. I'll see, but now isn't the time."

He also spoke frankly about his age group review, saying that people often ignore his performance on the court rather than judge him by numbers. “I might have performed very well but had to score points, and the focus turned to my age”. He said.

Lewandowski was asked if he suggested someone change him once he left Barça. Although he said it wasn't where he came up with his name, he realized it wasn't easy to find a good striker in today's market.

“There aren’t many top forwards around.” He explained. “It’s hard to find someone who is right for the team, the system and the budget.”

When referring to names like Erling Haaland or Viktor Gyokeres, Lewandowski simply states that such participants are out of reach for economic reasons.

“I think there are some players in the club as well, but in the end, you have to have a perfect solution to sign and also need the club, the coach or the system you want to play.

In football, it is not easy to find a striker now. ”

Praise the movie

It must be noted that Lewandowski is someone who has played under Hansi Flick before. Naturally, considering that he was able to get the best performance from this Barcelona team, he was asked about pole position.

“When Hansey arrived, I talked to him and explained how I saw this in this club. What the movie did was make sure every player performed the best.

“It’s not easy for the coach, I think Hansi talks to all the players and he knows that if we want to win the championship, we need the best players.

“That’s why I think a lot of players have performed best this season and I think after this season, next season may be more difficult.

"But if you are mentally prepared for these things, I believe we can play some more experience and in the end, it will be a little easier. But of course, every opponent wants to win our victory now and we have to prepare for it," He came to the conclusion.
