Legend's prediction debuts $25 million

"Karate Boy: Legend" will tide nostalgia to a $25 million opening weekend.

The film brings together Jackie Chan, an action legend and star of 2010’s “Karate Boy”, and Ralph Macchio brings together his original work to promote the Crane’s kick. The popularity of the Netflix series "Cobra Kai" will also reveal the release of Sony Pictures, which will expand the franchise to streaming. Some rival studios believe that Karate Kid: Legend could pay $30 million on the inaugural weekend if fans work.

Even for more conservative predictions, the results of the sequel are considerable, with the sequel being relatively economical, generating $45 million. However, last weekend's box office champion Disney's "Lilo & Stitch" was insufficient. During Memorial Day holiday, the Family Friendly Distribution Award received $182.6 million. It should generate more than $60 million on the second weekend. Globally, "Lilo & Stitch" will surpass the $400 million mark by Thursday and has become one of the hit singles of the year. It was an impressive result of a film that spent only $100 million to make its debut on Disney+.

"Task: Impossible - Final Estimation" will also bring fierce competition to "Karate Kids: Legend". On holiday weekends, action adventures could add $30 million to the total after debuting to $79 million. The "final algorithm" is close to $300 million worldwide, but with a budget of $400 million, and the Tom Cruise sequel needs to continue to attract crowds. At least making money on drama can be as difficult as breaking into a submarine in the Arctic Sea.

Other new releases for the weekend, A24's "Bring Her Back", are currently making their debut for $6 million. Australian supernatural horror film follows brothers and sisters to reveal a horrible ritual at the home of a foster mother. Given the popularity of the genre, this movie has many advantages, so don't be surprised if it's better than expected. Critics accepted the central performance of the picture and Sally Hawkins, rating it as a 90% "fresh" rating.

On Arthouse Front, the Focus feature will premiere Wes Anderson's "Phoenician Project" in a limited release. This is another star-studded, well-designed allegory from the producers of the "Budapest Hotel" and "Rushmore Hotel" films, including Benicio del Toro, Mia Toro, Mia Threeapleton, Riz Ahmed, Tom Hanks, Tom Hanks and Benedict Cumberbatch.

The film business looks more stable than it was a few months ago. Memorial Day box office created new records and exhibitors who endured strikes and pandemic industries, eager to build on the development of hits like “Lilo & Stitch,” “Minecraft Movie” and “Sinners” and “Sinners” and “Sinners” and “Sinners.”

Maybe Daniel Larusso can keep the good times.
