Jason Kelce welcomed James to the show with a powder throw similar to James' pregame ritual. The brothers then asked about James' football career and whether he had ever seriously considered joining the NFL. James expressed his interest during the 2011 NBA lockout.
"I don't know when we will be able to reach an agreement with the owners and get our league going," he said. "So I did think about it at the time. I was young enough to hang out with you guys. But that was the only time I really thought about it."
In front of some of the NFL's biggest names, James slightly walked back his Christmas Day comments, saying, "I love the NFL. But Christmas is our day."
"I saw the damn numbers afterward. You kicked our ass, okay," James said Wednesday. "You all kicked our ass from a ratings standpoint."
James also talked about his son Bronny, who was drafted by the Lakers last year. The father and son made history in October when they became the first father and son in NBA history to appear in a game together.
He called Brownie "the calmest, most laid-back, funniest kid in the world."
In his 22nd NBA season, James is currently averaging 23.7 points, 8.8 assists and 7.6 rebounds per game while shooting 50.9% from the field.
