The newly released video shows the moment in Las Vegas, Nevada, police opened fire on the body of an armed suspect when he ran out of the health club while killing one person and causing injuries to others.
Daniel Ortega, 34, was shot by police officers on Friday afternoon and later died, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) said.
If he survives, he will face one count of murder with a deadly weapon, each count of murder and assault with a deadly weapon on a protected person, and five counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
She said the incident was the third shooting involved in an officer this year, adding that at this time of 2024, there were also three shootings involving officers, all three of which were fatal.
Friday's shooting occurred around 1:30 p.m. Friday, when Ortega walked into the Las Vegas Sports Club with a rifle.

Proser said Ortega walked past several people and left the gym when they approached an employee at the front desk. Then, when the second employee approached him, Ortega then began to start around the front desk area.
Proser said the two words exchanged words when Ortega lifted his rifle and started shooting and hitting the staff.

Police said Ortega continued to enter the gym as he continued to shoot and then returned to the front hall where he drove more rounds until the gun appeared.
Investigators learned during the incident that Ortega had 24 rounds.
Ortega was shot when he fled the building and fell to the ground and the officer was able to detain him.

Medical staff responded to Ortega and transported Ortega to a regional hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Responsive officials found three people in the gymnasium with obvious gunshot wounds.
One of them was pronounced dead at the scene, and two others were taken to nearby officers.

Police later learned that the fourth victim was transported to a local hospital and suffered inanimate injuries.
An investigation into the shooting is underway.
