Los Angeles Democratic Mayor Karen Bass admitted on Thursday that her trip to Africa was a "absolute" mistake, and she is working to regain her reaction to a fire in the city last month Public trust.

When asked if he was trying to "regain confidence," Bass told NBC Los Angeles, "Absolutely, I think I have to prove it every day by showing what we are doing, what we are doing, what we are doing, what the challenge is."

The fire in Palisades began on January 7 and escalated throughout the night, but the mayor did not return to the city until January 8, and she did not answer repeated questions from Sky News reporters after she arrived in the United States.

Rep. Ro Khanna of D-Calif advises Disney CEO Bob Iger to run for mayor in 2026. The bass shrugged as she commented on whether she was personally.

"I only focus on one thing and one thing, and that's making sure our city can be healed and rebuilt and that all people living in Palisades can go home," Bass told NBC Los Angeles.
