Kolkata, India (AP) - Riyan Parag defeated five-of-six in a final match, but suffered a crushing defeat on Sunday in a chase by Rajasthan Royals, a crushing defeat in 1 match against the Kolkata Knights riders.
Kolkata's victory kept the knockout hopes.
Parag hit six-pointers from his 45-ball 95. Rajasthan took 6 wickets between them with Varun Chakravarthy (2-32) (2-32), Harshit Rana (2-41) and Moeen Ali (2-43) in the 205-8 match.
This is after Andre Russell's 57 goals didn't push Kolkata to 206-4.
Kolkata is now ranked sixth in the standings, winning five wins in 11 games and still can make it to the top four. Rajasthan ranked eighth with his ninth loss in 12 matches and was eliminated along with Chennai Super Kings.
Kolkata chose to hit the ball first, losing Sunil Narine 11.
He added 33 goals together with Ajinkya Rahane, who was 24 points behind by Parag after the 13th.
Kolkata ranked 111-3 in Game 13. Russell and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (44 photos 31 points) added 33 goals.
