The Knicks are a heavy loser in the series as the defending champion hits better than the 51-31 Knicks at the Eastern Conference with a 61-21 shooting percentage.
But the Knicks played the first two games of the series in Boston, overcoming a 20-point deficit in the second half both times to change the prospects for the series.

The Celtics ended up with a third game in an unbalanced 115-93 game and advanced through the first four quarters of Game 4 with a solid lead. But another angry Knicks made a comeback, coupled with Celtic star Jayson Tatum suffered a tear from Achilles, which allowed the Knicks to get the Knicks up 3-1 with all the momentum.
Even without Tatum, the Celtics could avoid elimination at home in Game 5 with a 127-102 victory. However, when the series returned to Madison Square Garden, the Celtics immediately appeared, falling into a huge deficit in Game 6 early in the game as the Knicks led 27 in the halftime.
