PARIS - Kim Kardashian will stand in Paris court on Tuesday against a team of people known as the "Grandpa Robber" who are accused of stealing her jewelry worth $9 million from the boldest celebrity robbery in modern French history.
Nearly nine years after the reality star breaks into reality star breaks into reality star breaks into reality, Mogul's luxury suite at Hôtel de Pourtalès (anonymous building often referred to by A-List celebrities as "No Address", reality star will face a suspect charged with criminal charges, charged with armed robbery, kidnapping and other crimes.
Allegedly called "Grandpa Robber" by French media because of their age, they were allegedly convicted of police officers, who were forced to serve as interpreters as they tied Kardashian to the bedroom of a luxurious suite.
A few months after the robbery made headlines, Kardashian was in E! The episode talks about the incident in the season 13 episode, "stay in touch with the Kardashians."
"This is how my door opened and then I saw two guys wearing police uniforms, but just outside my bedroom 5 feet away," she told her sisters Khloe Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian had an exciting conversation.
She said she saw two men holding concierge services, who were handcuffed and had a key. “What I heard from the conversation with him afterwards was that they said, ‘Where is the rapper’s wife? Let’s go to her room!’ She said, “In French.”
The plot aired in March 2017 is in E! The YouTube channel has been viewed 3.8 million times.
Before the robbery, Kardashian released a live update in her hotel suite, showing a 20-carat diamond ring, presented by Ye and Ye, who investigators believe the gang followed her online, combing through images, timestamps, geotags, and then hiring old-fashioned criminal offender methods for the robbery.
Three months after the robbery, most of the accused were arrested, and police launched a massive operation involving pieced together security camera video and DNA evidence. However, legal proceedings have been plagued by delays and many elderly defendants are now suffering from illness, one of whom died. Another person was too uncomfortable to stand trial.
Among the defendants who began last month’s trial, AOMAR AIT AIT KHEDACHE, 69, was called “Old Omar” and they were accused of being the mastermind of the plot. His son and the so-called escape driver, Harminy, 37, was also charged with Didier "Blue Eyes" Dubreucq, 69.
Gary Madar, the brother of Kardashian driver, was accused of providing information to alleged gang members about his whereabouts and Christiane Glotin, 78, for being accused of being accomplice in the planned robbery.
Yunice Abbas, perhaps the most famous defendant at the trial, details the robbery in his 2021 book, Kim Kardashian. He told the court that it was the first time he had truly recognized the “trauma” he caused to his victims.
