Sovereignty actually lags behind most of the game and no major moves were made until the last round.
Entering the final game, Neoequos was at the top 42-1, but both sovereignty and journalism were promoted to the frontline.
After running, sovereignty stands out. Journalism opened 3-1 and closed 7-2.
Sovereignty crossed the finish line at 2:02.31. Baeza ranked third, Gambit ranked fourth, and Irving All-Around 5.
This is the second Kentucky Derby win for coach Bill Mott. Among the top security guards, he was disqualified for making his way to other horses, and he won from 2019 since 2019.

It was a wet day for Churchill Downs, fans filled the stands in the rain in the shelves of ponchos.
Baffert returned to the Rose's run after missing the first three games Saturday as 2021 Derby champion Medina Spirit failed to have a drug test. The horse died in December last year.
According to Courier-Journal of Louisville, Kentucky, every horse that competes is a descendant of the famous Horse Racing Secretariat.

The Secretariat has more than 660 registered foals in its lifetime. He won the derby with 1:59.40, and the record remains.
