Kaja Sokola, the latest accuser in Harvey Weinstein's criminal trial, tore the stands at the booth Thursday, saying her "soul was removed" when the former studio tycoon allegedly forced her to have a blowjob in a hotel room encounter in 2006.
Sokola is one of three complaining witnesses in the retrial against Weinstein. Unlike the other two witnesses (Miriam Haley and Jessica Mann), Sokora did not testify at Weinstein's last trial. His 2020 conviction was overturned in April 2024, when the Court of Appeal ruled that the trial judge improperly allowed other women to testify against Weinstein.
During the new trial on April 23, Sokola's name was first related to the case. But she had previously filed a civil lawsuit against Weinstein’s brothers Bob Weinstein, Disney and Miramax in 2019, and later won a $3 million settlement related to another sexual assault, in which case it was charged in 2002.
The former Polish model and actress testified that she first met Weinstein in 2002. Her goal to meet him was to transition into acting careers after working as a model in the United States and abroad. Once, Sokola was Nanny's Diary By Weinstein.
"I never really wanted anything else from Harvey Weinstein," Sokora said.
The interaction with Weinstein was allegedly involved after lunch with Weinstein and Sokola's sister at the Tribeca Grand Hotel. Sokola, then 19, said she had arranged a meeting because she wanted her sister to meet Weinstein in order to prove to her that she might be a career as an actor. After a brief lunch, Sokora said that Weinstein asked her to come to the hotel room to read the script, then forced her to put her on the bed, took off her socks and underwear and gave her a blowjob.
Sokola said, "I kept saying 'Please don't. Please stop. I don't want this. But he doesn't listen.
After the alleged incident, Sokora testified, “He said to me, ‘Do you see?
Sokola's sister Ewa Sokola was also in the stands on Wednesday and testified with Weinstein and her sister Weinstein. She said when she came back upstairs with Weinstein, she noticed her sister’s “extreme tension” but lunch was friendly and their day went as planned. Before 2022 reports Rolling stones article.
When asked why she didn't tell her sister, Kaja Sokola said she "blame herself" and didn't want to share in her telling Ewa that Weinstein was someone she trusted and could help her career.
"I really care about my sister and mother's approval. I can't tell them," Sokora said at the booth on Thursday. She testified that the two had participated in a modeling competition when she was 14 years old.
Earlier Thursday, Sokola testified about alleged sexual contact with Weinstein, which happened when she was 16 when she first visited New York. After meeting Weinstein for the first time in the restaurant butter, Weinstein asked if she was an actress and Socola called him. A few days later, he called her and picked her up in the car, and she testified that she told him that he was 16 years old.
Sokola said that instead of taking her to the restaurant for lunch, the driver took them to Weinstein’s apartment where she followed him to the bedroom and stroked her vagina in the bathroom and masturbated with her hands on her cock.
"He told me to take off my clothes, and I didn't want to do that. I was panicked. Then he said, if I wanted to be an actress, that's what the actors do in the movie," Sokola said. "So I should get used to it."
"I'm scared. I'm scared of him." She continued, following him with him because she was 16 and didn't know what to do. “I’ve never been intimate with someone like this.”
As a result of this incident and another suspected groping several years later, Judge Curtis Farber read out the jury’s rules, stating how the incident is irrelevant and serves as background information about the relationship between the parties, not as background information, rather than as tendencies or tendencies or susceptibility to crime. This is because prosecutors are driving the Molineux rule, which usually prohibits the use of evidence of defendants’ previous bad behavior to prove their tendency to impose relevant allegations and contributes to Weinstein’s belief that overturned 2020.
In addition to criminal charges related to Sokola, Weinstein was re-produced for criminal charges and rape charges related to the former childbirth assistant are Project runwayMiriam Haley claims he forced her to have a blowjob at an apartment in 2006 and from aspiring actress Jessica Mann claims she was raped by Weinstein in 2013 at a Manhattan hotel.
Weinstein pleaded not guilty to all charges. He sat at the defense table with his lawyer, watching Sokora in the stands.
Haley testified in the stands last week that she tried to stop Weinstein
Haley and Sokora both stayed in touch with Weinstein after the alleged incident and showed their scope on potential entertainment programs. Sokola specializes in film projects with Weinstein, as well as members of his team to acquire agents as actors.
Sokola became a psychotherapist working in Poland a few years after the alleged incident and moved to New York, where she was on a visa and is currently seeking asylum after her husband escaped. She added that she continued her struggle with alcoholism that began her teenage years.
In addition to civil litigation related to the 2002 incident, she participated in a settlement fund related to the 2006 incident in connection with Weinstein and received a $475,000 bonus. However, this is her first testimony in a criminal lawsuit, where she says she did it for her son.
“I have a young son, I am a single mom. I raised him alone. When I was a kid, I never really looked at it the right way. I wanted to show him his strength, strength and strength and resilience, Sokora said, “I want to show others others, no matter you fall.”
