Oklahoma City - Joley Mitchell had two home runs and Teagan Kavan allowed just two hits, leading Texas' sixth seed 3-0 on Thursday, playing openly in the Women's College World Series.

Mitchell became the first Texas player to make multiple home runs in the WCWS with his home runs in the second and sixth innings by Florida ace Keagan Rothrock.

"For me, it's a clean slate. "I know I need to be on time, and that's just the forefront of my mind." ”

Texas (52-11) will play the title in the game between Oklahoma and Tennessee on Saturday. Florida (48-16) will play Oklahoma State-Teniesey loser in Friday's knockout.

Carwan abandoned her third closure in two years at Devon Park’s WCWS operation.

"I mean, this is a place," Kawan said. "I don't have any other place. A lot of people will give a lot here. So I'm so happy to be here to go all out for my teammates and give us some wins."

Mitchell and Katie Stewart ran back to back on the day of Rothrock’s sixth ending. She was pulled after throwing 105 balls. Three of the five hits she allowed were home runs.

Mitchell's first home run went 250 feet to the left field.

The Gators were hit in three innings against Kawan, who improved to 25-5. Florida finally broke out in the fourth inning when Korbe Otis hit a base on Mitchell's first base glove.

"I mean, she's a good pitcher," Otis said. "Everyone we're going to face at the University World Series will be a good pitcher. Her pitching is better than we can, so she's doing a great job."

Texas led 1-0 in the fifth but threatened to hit Rothrock with two outs. She eliminated Reese Atwood and hoped to end the game.

Now, the Gators are entering last season’s double knockout semifinals and they are extending their season.

"Obviously, losing the first game of the College World Series was a huge disappointment, and the way they were doing the business told me everything I needed to know about the people I coached," said Florida coach Tim Walton. "They took it seriously. They competed. They worked hard, they enjoyed their jobs. So, no matter what we did tomorrow, today is a learning opportunity."
