Slot: It's hard to strengthen our squad

Three weeks ago, the Premier League championship had already begun and speculation has begun to be expected to strengthen their teams in preparation for a new challenge from the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal.

Talk before Monday's game against Brighton, live Sky movementSlot said it would be tricky to increase their squad - admitting he also had to find a way to keep the happy edge players who had barely participated this season.

"I've said it a lot, as a club, we're very happy with the players we have," he said.

“Part of that is our decision, but in some cases players don’t have a lot of games for players who don’t expect another season without a lot of games.

“So there will always be an ongoing process and we have to make sure that if we can strengthen the team, we are ready.

"But it's hard to strengthen this team. That's why we win the league - because we have a lot of great players.

“It’s an ongoing process and we’re talking about it. I think this club has shown so many times in the past that they’re going to make the right decision.

"And, we made the right decision, not to attract a player - except for Federico Chiesa (for £10m), which is good."
