The 24-year-old hopes to move to Anfield, where he has a €35 million release clause.

He can play in right back and right wing and is highly rated by Reds Boss Arne Slot.

The Celtics have terms to sell, worth about £5 million.

The Dutch international was a key member of Leverkusen, who won Germany's domestic doubles last season.

Since joining Leverkusen in January 2021, the former Manchester City youth player has provided 30 goals for the club in 190 games and 44 assists for the club in all games.

Leverkusen signed Frimpong from Celtic in January 2021, worth up to £11.5 million.

In September 2019, he moved from Manchester City Academy to Celtics for £300,000.

Frimpong told Leverkusen that he wanted to leave the club.

Alexander-Arnold announced last week that his contract will expire on June 30.
