Jay-Z adds new allegations in defamation lawsuit against rape accusers

Jay-Z is doubling up, adding new charges to his malicious prosecution and defamation lawsuit against Jane Doe rape accuser and her attorney in Alabama.

In a revised complaint filed late Monday at Mobile, the founder of Roc Nation claimed his accusers had “not stopped” to issue a statement against him, even though she agreed in February to voluntarily dismiss the lawsuit for sexual assault that was first identified last year. In that revised version of the complaint filed on December 8, DOE publicly accused Jay-Z of raped her at the age of 13 with Sean Combs at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAS) Afterparty.

Jay-Z claims in his new document that until April 11, Jane Doe posted a lip sync video on Tiktok that said: "You can't pay me a million dollars to get an apology video from me, I stand on what I say, fuck."

"By refusing to apologize and continuing to 'stand what she said, despite all the evidence, and indeed her own admission of the contrary, Doe continues to show shocking and reckless disregard for facts, both intentional and malicious,'' Rolling stones, nation. The document goes on to allegation: “The doe never had any reasonable reason to back up any truth in her statement, and Reck ignored the truth.” “In other words, she lied.”

Jay-Z, born Shawn Carter, filed a new complaint in Jane Doe and her high-profile attorney Tony Buzbee, who showed no “special harm” required to file a claim. They said Carter's previous allegations said the Rock Nation was not losing enough in an unspecified $20 million payday. (Buzbee and Doe also protect Alabama's lawsuits by arguing that DOE's claims are privileged by lawsuits filed in good faith.)

Carter claimed in the amended lawsuit that the $20 million represents a "minimum fee guarantee" of an undisclosed contract, and that the full cost of the transaction "will be added to millions if contracted." Carter also alleged that the consequences of the DOE allegations also undermined his ability to seek new business opportunities.

The amended complaint said: "Mr. Carter was deprived of $55 million in personal credit due to the defendant's false lawsuit and other false public statements against Mr. Carter." It also claimed that Rock State was also denied a $115 million loan, and that Carter and Rock State were "inseparably tied together", so what happened to both of them. (Carter is 50% owner of Roc Nation, a country that applies for.)

Butzby told Rolling stones In a statement issued Tuesday. He focused most of his contempt on the new allegations, saying he was suspected of tampering with Wikipedia pages.

Carter claimed in the amended complaint: "Buzbee instructed his employees to edit the Wikipedia page to enhance Buzbee's image and to damage Mr. Carter and Roc Nation's reputation." The move would violate Wikipedia's rules. "Users with IP addresses directly linked to Buzbee's company have made more than 100 positive edits to Buzbee's Wikipedia page," the new document states.

"This is the first for me and it's very weak," Buzzby said of Wikipedia.

Carter sued Buzbee and Buzbee’s Houston law firm in November, directly suing Jane Doe in March. Carter claimed in both lawsuits that Buzby knew or should have known that he was peddling the alleged lies in his revision lawsuit filed on December 8, accusing Carter of being a male celebrity described in the first lawsuit filed against Combs in October. Carter claimed Buzby sent him a demand letter in early November to squeeze his money and then added him to the Combs lawsuit because he refused to strike.

A Los Angeles County judge oversees Carter's California defamation lawsuit, has held many hearings on Buzbee's attempt to dismiss Carter's claims. On Monday, the judge ordered Camp Carter to submit a controversial audio record, a private investigator made outside her Alabama home on February 21, 2025.

Rolling stones Part of the so-called doorway discussion was previously held with Jane Doe. In the clip, one of the investigators specifically asked Doe if he was saying Carter was at VMA Afterparty, but “had nothing to do with any sexual behavior to you.”

"Yes," Doe replied. Another investigator then asked if Buzbee suggested Carter play a role in the alleged attack after the VMA. “He’s the kind of person who prompted me to move forward to him with Jay-Z,” the woman replied. Butzby later claimed his client was frightened by investigators, and Carter twisted her statement. His attorney in the California case, Samuel Moniz, told the court last month that Carter's blackmail and defamation claims had no merit.

Moniz argued in court on April 8: "This is a powerful figure with a good funding and he is trying to punish lawyers for their job as lawyers.

The next hearing for the California case is scheduled for June 12.
