Jamal Murray scores 25

Denver - Sick Jamal Murray may have questions about Game 6, but in his opinion, there is no ambiguity in his game status.

"Absolutely not." Murray said when asked if he had a chance to sit in the game.

Murray scored 25 points and hit the Denver Nuggets 119-107 Thursday night to send the series back to Oklahoma City for a decisive seven games.

After 24 hours of illness, Murray hit the Nuggets with a four-pointer, started the game, and sank a step-length three-pointer to start the fourth quarter, pushing Denver's lead into double-digits.

Nikola Jokic led Denver with 29 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists, and Christian Braun scored 23 points in the professional playoffs. But it was sophomore reserve guard Julian Strawther, who ignited the Nuggets' out-of-control and scored a professional playoff high of 15 points in the second half.

“Julian played a huge show for us and got a real shot,” said Aaron Gordon. “I don’t think it was something they planned.”

In a decisive 10-0 third quarter leaps and a layup, Strawther had a pair of 3s and a layup, and he kept playing big games at both ends of the fourth quarter as the Nuggets finally played a laugh in this exhaustive, physics series.

A good example: Strawther lost his crown in the fourth quarter. When the action goes to the other end, the player retrieves artificial teeth from the circle.

Gordon grabbed his left hamstring late in the game and lingered in the final minutes, but insisted he would be fine in Game 7 Sunday, with the Minnesota Timberwolves waiting for the winner after sending Golden State in five games.

"I feel fine. We'll see," Gordon said. “I’m going to start the recovery process now and make sure I’m ready for the game 7.”

If he was good, it would be a huge relief for Denver interim coach David Adelman, who called Gordon "the reason we won the game and won the game and hung the banner."

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 32 points, but his teammates didn't get enough help for Oklahoma City's first Western Conference Finals since 2016. All-star Jalen Williams scored six points from 16 shots.

The Nuggets, who won the title two years ago, finally got a two-day break in the last few weeks. They have participated every other day since April 29.

"The guys there look happier than playing in Game 7," Adelman said.

The Thunder are second only to November and early April twice this season. However, this will be the first win or full game of the current iteration.

"First of all, Denver credit - they threw a punch tonight like a series, and both teams were exchanging blows," Thunder coach Mark Digneault said. "They got their game tonight and both teams did a great job of backups including us, and we need to do that on Sunday."
