That man Authorities say he died after bombing the Palm Springs fertility clinic on Saturday, which is related to anti-primitivism, a belief that all life is a form of suffering imposed by unconsensual people, a terrorist expert who is analyzing his online presence.
Guy Bartkus, 25, exploded in a car outside the U.S. reproductive center, injured five people, committed suicide and caused serious damage to the building in a terrorist act.
"This theme has a nihilistic conception, and it is a targeted attack," Akil Davis, assistant director of the FBI's Los Angeles Field Office, said in a press conference. Davis added that Bartcus was trying to achieve the attack. All embryos in the facility are preserved.
Since the attack, Bartkus' digital footprint has surfaced, including his views' writings and recordings. According to Laist, Bartkus appeared to describe himself as a host and misleader on the website that surfaced after the bombing, which can be heard in the recording, saying, "Basically I am anti-life. He did not use his name on the website, but analysts at the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD) believe the site was operated by him. Wired looked at the archived version of the website.
Reddit also bans the anti-primitivist subreddit R/Efilism and tells NBC News that it is removing "any instance of the suspect's declaration or recording as well as the hashed recordings to prevent re-uploading." Efilism is a form of anti-primitivism, also associated with actorism, named by spelling "life" backwards.
Nihilists believe that life is meaningless. While voters and anti-primitivists also don’t value human life, Katherine Keneally, director of threat analysis and prevention at the U.S., said Bartcus’s view is somewhat different from nihilism because he believes he is on a mission.
"Investors recognize and try to minimize pain rather than embrace harm and immorality that endangers people," Kenneley said. He noted that Battercus's writing was attributed to his rejection of "social trends" of "nihilists of nihilists of nihilists of nihilists" in May 2025.
According to reports, in the recording of the above website, Battercus said: "I'm angry, um, um, um, you know, no one agrees to bring me here."
Keneally said the suspect’s statements and social media posts showed that the bombing was motivated by daycare, as he might think that the attacks on fertility clinics were blocking new lives. She added that ISD analysts believe that votingism has been the main motivation for violence in the past.
The bombing took place more than a week after ISD released a report on the view of the world of nothingness. The report found that authorities linked two well-known subcultures of nihilism, real criminal communities and inanimate problems in 2024 with nine school shooting sites and two Swedish stab attacks.
