"It's a good show" - Wigman is excited about England's victory over Portugal

England head coach Sarina Wiegman was very pleased with a 6-0 European League victory over Portugal at Webley on Friday night.

In the ruthless situation of the dominant European champions, they did not answer, and they outscored six goals over the visitors. Aggie Beever-Jones captures the headlines by winning the first half hat trick.

When talking in the media after the game, England boss Wiegman praised her performance for her adaptability.

"I think it's a good performance," Wigman said. "What we want to do tonight is to be early, high, win the ball as soon as possible, and then be as good as possible, create opportunities and score goals.

"I think we did a great job in the first half and we were very adaptable when they (Portugal) changed their shape. We kept in touch and kept the game connected. I think it was really nice to see."

Chelsea forward Beever-Jones became the second Lioness to win a hat-trick at Wembley. She won the treble in the first 33 minutes of the game. Wiegman was happy with the calmness of the young while playing on the big stage.

She said: “I think she is a shooter and her goals are very easy. I think she is really good and she is really relaxing in her playing. ”

Georgia Stanway, Lauren Hemp and Alex Greenwood all returned to the court after a long injury, and Wiegman highlighted the hard work the three did ahead of the European Rugby Women’s Euro (UEFA) European Rugby League (UEFA) Euro (UEFA) Euro (UEFA)

She said: "It's really nice to see them. They worked so hard that they are now where they are and that's what they show.

"If you haven't put all your work into this, you won't be able to perform as they did tonight. I'm very happy with that, of course, we need to keep building; the euro is really close, and at the same time, we want to do a great job in the National League, so we're trying to find that balance."

Now everyone's eyes are turned to England's final UEFA League against Spain, and the victory will allow the Lionesses to win their group. Wigman said the team hopes to succeed in every aspect this summer.

She said: “This game is very important tonight because we know that if we win, we will finish second, which means we are in a good position in the World Cup draw, which is also important.

"You go to Spain on Tuesday and you want to win this game because you want to win the National League, too. At the same time, we are preparing for the euro."
