A missile was launched in Iran's unanimous Hushis, which was launched near Israel's main airport, was an air strike.
The Israeli military said it had conducted air strikes on the port of Hodida in Yemen, claiming that the sites were used to support Houthi operations against Israel.
Fighters attacked the infrastructure on Monday, linked to Husseus, including a concrete factory east of Hodida, described as a "important economic resource" for building tunnels and military infrastructure, according to Israeli forces.
"The Hodeidah Seaport is a hub for the transfer of Iranian weapons and equipment to military needs," the Israeli army said in a statement. The claim cannot be independently verified.
Houthi-Run Al Masirah TV reported that six Israeli strikes attacked the port of Hodeidah and blamed Israel and the United States.
Axios journalist Barak Ravid quoted a senior U.S. official who said the air strikes between Israel and the United States were coordinated.
A US defense source told Al Jazeera that "the U.S. military did not participate in the Israeli strike in Yemen today" but may not provide non-fatal support.
The attack came after a ballistic missile launched by Yemen on Sunday near Ben Gurion International Airport outside Tel Aviv.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pledged to retaliate against the Houthi attack, the first known missile since avoiding interception, as Yemeni Group began targeting Israel in November 2023.
Al Jazeera correspondent Ali Hashem reported that about 30 Israeli fighter jets participated in Monday's operation, with Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz overseeing from the command center in Tel Aviv.
Hashem said the strike marked a "new phase" in Israel's attack on Yemen.
Hashem added that since U.S. President Donald Trump returned to power in January, the United States has launched more aggressive attacks on Yemen’s “directly related to Israeli interests.”
This is not the first time Israel has bombed Yemen. In December, air raids attacked Ras Isa oil terminal and other locations in the province of Hodeidah, killing at least nine people.
Hashem said that while most of the projectiles that broke out were intercepted, Sunday’s attack was “the most important strike”, a response to Israel’s war on Gaza since the group launched its campaign in November 2023 and showed a statement with the Palestinians. Last year, a drone had previously attacked a building in Tel Aviv.
Since November 2023, Houthis, also known as Ansar Allah, has launched more than 100 drone and missile attacks against ships, which they say are related to Israel in the Red Sea.
Although Hossis stopped the attack during the ceasefire in Gaza this year, they resumed operations in March after Israel cut off humanitarian aid to Gaza and resumed its offensive.
