Inzaghi said Inter must forget to beat Barcelona last week.

Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi urged his players to forget about a tough week and face Barcelona without fear as they hope to return to the season in Wednesday's Champions League semi-finals.

Inter lost three games for the first time in all competitions since 2017, quitting Italy's Coppa Italia from Milan and suffering back-to-back defeats in Serie A, allowing Naples to replace them on the table.

Now, they promised a season-long treble a week ago in the semifinals at the Olympic Stadium this week with a season-long commitment, a high note, and now there is a risk of no trophy.

"Forgot everything last week," Inzaghi said in a pre-match press conference. "For four years, these players have done extraordinary things and they have been doing it.

"The work was not removed last week. It's a great season. We've analyzed the last three games. We have to do better, but four years later, we're (still) competing here.

"(Until last week), we've been fighting for every trophy when someone said it was hard to get into the top four in Italy. You'll never hear my dissatisfaction with these boys and groups. Thanks to them, we've exceeded all expectations from the last four years."

Inzaghi wins a Serie A title with two Coppas Italias serving Inter Coach, and his goal is to have a second Champions League final nerazzurri After becoming the runner-up of Real Madrid in 2023.

In front of the Italian side is a Barcelona team that just won Laliga and just won Copa del Rey, beating Real Madrid in the final, and Inzaghi has been praised for the work done by Hansi Flick since last summer.

"We may be the best team in the world right now," he added. "We have to be very clean technically. We need a lot of components to compete with such a strong team."

“Flick is an excellent coach and he’s very good at offense. When they lose, they quickly get the ball back. They have great forwards, midfielders and a lot of players who have passed the academy.

"So with the greatest respect, but without fear, we will look at them like against Bayern (Munich in the quarterfinals). There are great teams in the game, but we want to give our opinions."

The International Front will have no defender Benjamin Pavard at Barcelona this week, but forward Marcus Thuram can be used again after returning to practice.

"Thuram has trained with the team," Inzaghi confirmed. "He did a great job. The signs are positive, but we have to judge it tomorrow."

Thuram will work with Lautaro Martínez if appropriate. Between them, the two have scored 38 goals in all games this season, and Martinez said the team is united with the goal of reaching another Champions League final.

"We did a great job this year until last week we lost three games in a row," the Argentina international said in a press conference. "It hasn't happened in a while. We're used to winning, so when you lose, it's even more painful. But the team is good, strong, and united. The key to the team is to have a solid group. We're ready to face the game.

“We are excited because we have reached two Champions League semi-finals in three years. We have done a great job in this game. Now, we want to realize our fan dreams and go to another final.

“We have confidence and look forward to this possibility.”
