Coachella and Stagecoach helped start the festival season from the California desert, but half the world is the other festival debuting at the Intercontinental Mamunagu Resort in the Maldives.
Known as "Seachella", the Music & Food Festival takes over the resort's seaside locale, performs a live show, local cuisine and a unique activation. Elevated Festival experience.
It was the first Seachella festival ever, and organizers promoted it as an opportunity for guests to experience the bucket list island, but also a replacement for national events that often exuded huge crowds and chaos. Indeed, Seachella fosters a more intimate environment, with a guest list limited to 200 attendees, spanning travelers, influencers and VIPs.
The three-day event included DJ Acts, local live bands, aerial and acrobatics, and evening fire shows, ultimately with Marvin Humes’ DJ setup, most notably the UK’s award-winning Boyband, JLS. Humes contradicted the breathtaking starry sky, spinning for a 90-minute long spanning R&B and popular classics, from the League of People to Whitney Houston to Sir Mix-a-lot. Once, Humes made the crowd burst into Macarena, and the thirty-year-old dance moves were easy for everyone to come back. The singer and radio host will be on a reunion tour with JLS this fall, dropping Doechii’s latest hit single “Anxiety,” Bruno Mars and Rosé’s “Apt.
In addition to Humes, former Capital XTRA radio host DJ Charlesy played live shows throughout the festival, including a daytime beach party, and saw aerial performances with three-storey rotating "flowers" as the sky, while guests enjoy snacks from oyster bars and champagne stalls. The chef also offers locally inspired fares at several restaurants in the Maamunagau resort (including fresh tuna and reef fish, as well as curry and noodle dishes drawn from the flavors of neighbouring India and Sri Lanka. The atmosphere is pleasantly optimistic and laid back, and the revelers blend freely while eating, dancing and chasing the sun.
There is also enough time to relax for those who just want to relax. Unlike the overly stimulating music festivals in the US, guests at the Intercontinental Maldives were invited to decompress and wind down with a number of tranquil experiences, from a facial or massage in the private overwater treatment rooms at the resort's AVI Spa (using Eminence Organics products), to oceanside yoga classes or just a leisurely bike ride along the resort's many winding paths.
Other activities at the resort include their popular viewing tour, led by researchers at the nonprofit Manta Trust who work on awareness of the population decline of these animals. The property can also arrange private boat trips, diving tours, dolphin viewing and more.
This is the first Seachella Festival in the Mamunagau resort of Maldives that opened in 2019. Located in RAA Atoll. Just 35 minutes from the seaplane at Velana International Airport, the resort offers the iconic, after tomorrow and after tomorrow Watervillas, and there is no doubt that you can see it in addition to residents living on the beach and private beach and private private.
InterContinental Maldives is a favorite destination for actors, musicians and entrepreneurs, and offers many culturally-related programs throughout the year, including the Residence Artist Program, and a rotating lineup of renowned chefs and sommeliers from around the world who have established guest seats on the property.
Arriving in the Maldives is very easy, with direct flights from Dubai via Emirates Airlines every day. Are there any stopovers? This summer, no matter how many hours or all day you have, you can feel a lot of fun in Dubai. We spent a seven-hour stopover at the world-renowned Dubai Mall, where luxury shops and luxury shops like Louis Vuitton are just steps away from (indoor) ice rinks, Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, and tobacco-rich exhibitions choreographed by Instagram Worthy. Not only is Burj the tallest structure in the world, but the Dubai Fountain is the largest orchestrated fountain system in the world (yes, it's more impressive than Las Vegas).
Hotel Jump is also a popular tourist attraction in Dubai, like the Cruise Ship in March, just opened in March, completing the "Ocean Trilogy" of Jumeirah's "Ocean Trilogy" Ultra-Luxury Properties, as well as the wavy Wave Spare Jumeirah Beach Hotel, and the Sailboat Inspired Jumiled jumeirah burj burj burj burj alab (see here) (see here).
Royal on Palm Jumeirah in Atlantis was hyped when he performed there in 2023 at Beyonce, and now the hotel is the international outpost of Carbone, the latest international Italian restaurant. Foodies will also want to ride the Overtime Market Dubai, an international food hall that offers unique dishes from Asian comfort food to Spanish tapas to Middle Eastern cuisine (yes, there are also several bars there to help you get through your time).
Other events this summer include Dubai Esports and Game Festival, a serious networking and money-making activity targeting gamers, creators and entrepreneurs. DJ Kygo, meanwhile, held the Coca-Cola Arena on May 30 for a special one-night show. Get the full event calendar on VisitDubai.com.
