FIFA President Gianni Infantino appeared on Thursday to provide some support for the idea of Conmebol in the 2030 World Cup, saying "every idea is a good idea" and should be reviewed.

Conmebol President Alejandro Domínguez said in his inaugural address at the 75th FIFA conference in Paraguay that all member associations should think creatively to ensure no one is excluded from the game, which will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the First World Cup and was hosted and won by Uruguay.

"The 100-year celebration will be special. I want to emphasize the words of Alejandro (Domínguez) in this speech. He told us all about how we really celebrate it in the way we should be. So every idea is a good idea," Infantino said in his closing speech.

The 2026 World Cup will play in the United States, Mexico and Canada next year, and has expanded to 48 teams. Conmebol wants the next World Cup to play in Spain, Portugal and Morocco, including Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay, with 64 teams.

After Congress ended, CONCAF President Victor Montagliani reiterated his differences.

"I've commented on this, it's not a good idea, I know, I don't think we've even played 48 goals (2026) and I think obviously they can research everything they want, but it doesn't feel right."

Also at the FIFA Congress meeting on Thursday, Palestinian officials were frustrated after FIFA did not give a clear timeline to report two investigations into Israeli football.

FIFA asked its disciplinary body last October to study allegations of discrimination by the Israel Football Federation and its governance team to advise whether the teams participating in Israeli settlements at national competitions violated the statue of the governing body.

Last year, the Palestinian Football Federation's new proposition to FIFA was part of a 15-year campaign that sought action against settled clubs.

"We don't wait for another year. We need to take action now." Susan Shalabi, a Palestinian football official, urged FIFA leaders.

"All we ask for is a clear update on the situation of the matter and an exact date will be investigated," she said.
