Why Texas Texas Institute of Technology will win 2025 WCWS
This year, it was a lonely star women’s college world competition, and journalist Jenni Carlson broke the reason why Texas Tech will win, one of the reasons Texas won the WCWS.
This isn't the first time any Arm has faced this season when Texas and Texas Tech may deploy Ace pitchers Teagan Kavan and Nijaree Canada on June 4 on June 4.
Kawan and Canada led the Longhorns and Red Raiders to play unbeaten early in the regular season at the Women's Academy World Series this season. Two days later, Texas won the best results at Texas Tech in both meetings, and two days later with a 2-1 victory and an 11-0 running rule.
Kavan and Canada were crucial to succeed in the playoffs: Kavan allowed two runs in 17 innings at WCWS, while Canada surrendered three innings in 21.
Both shows are looking for their first national champion in program history in 2025, and their early season games proved to be the championship series about four months later. Here is a review of Texas and Texas Tech's regular season showdown in February:
The first game of Texas and Texas Tech in the first of the first two games in the regular season was a duel for the pitchers, as the Longhorns needed nine innings to win 2-1. Both Kavan and Canada showed full play in the February 14 super duel, and Kavan's best performance in her college career to date may also be the best performance in her college career.
Kawan lost nine innings with a strikeout of 18 innings and could make four hits in the Red Raiders game. Nine of her 18 strikeouts were against Texas Tech's 1-2-3 hitters Mihyia Davis, Alana Johnson and Lauren Allred, who all became huge contributors in the Red Raiders' playoffs.
Meanwhile, Canada threw eight innings, allowing two hits (1) and struck out with 11 strikeouts.
Texas stepped out of Canada and Texas Tech in the ninth inning after Joley Mitchell and Leighann Goode led the innings in a back-to-back singles. Mitchell scored a match-winning score in the fielder's selection and later got a throw error in the frame.
Texas Tech led 1-0 in the fourth inning with Anya German singles and tied for Mia Scott's doubles with a score of 1-1 in Texas. Two days later, on February 16, Texas beat Texas Tech 11-0 in five innings, although Canada did not compete.
Canada pitches almost every inning in the playoffs, including every court starting from the super area. It seems that the former National Player of the Year hasn't allowed anyone else to compete in the National Championship Series.
