Homeland Security Investigates Los Angeles County’s Federal Benefits for Unauthorized Immigration

Trump administration announced on Monday that it has investigated California's investigation Immigration Cash Assistance Programa national program for the age of ineligible for Social Security benefits for the blind and disabled, for the age of blind and disabled.

The investigation began in Los Angeles, where the Homeland Security Investigation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Los Angeles Field Office issued a Chapter 8 subpoena to the cash assistance program for immigrants in California.

According to the department, the subpoena requested all records from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services, the agency that manages the national program, to determine whether the Social Security Department has received supplementary safety income in the past four years.

"Radical left politicians prioritize illegal foreigners over our own citizens, including giving illegal foreigners access to cash benefits," Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said in a statement.

"The Trump administration is working together to determine abuse and exploitation of the public interest and to ensure that the illegal person is not receiving federal benefits or other financial rewards to keep it illegal," Noam added. "If you are an illegal immigrant, you should leave now. The gravy train is over. Although this subpoena only looks at Los Angeles County, it's just the beginning."

According to Homeland Security, its Los Angeles Investigation Site Office is calling records, including the applicant’s name and date of birth, a copy of the application, immigration status, affidavit for the Social Security Agency to benefit, and an affidavit to support the application.

The investigation was signed by President Trump Presidential Memorandum On April 15, in order to prevent immigrants who lack documents from getting benefits from the Social Security Act, he called it a stop to incentivize illegal immigration and protect taxpayers’ money.

The memorandum directs the Secretary of Homeland Security to ensure that unauthorized immigrants do not receive funding from the Social Security program and prioritize civil or criminal enforcement against states or territories in violation of potential Title IV of the Personal Liability and Job Opportunity Reconciliation Act.

It also expanded the Social Security Bureau’s fraud prosecutor program to at least 50 U.S. attorneys and established Medicare and Medicaid fraud litigation programs in 15 U.S. attorneys’ offices.
