This match will be a 10-round lightweight match, two-round matches.

"I'm excited to be working with the most valuable promotions and back into the boxing circle," Holm said in a press release on Wednesday. "This new chapter will be an exciting journey and I look forward to the challenge. Back in boxing, where most of my MMA career has been spent at 135 pounds, and now I have the opportunity to box at that weight. With three higher weight-level boxing champions under my belt, I'm eager to win a fourth title in the new division."

Holm, 43, retired from professional boxing in 2013 and went all out. Holm is one of the best female boxers of all time, Holm entered the 33-2-3 (9 KOS) in the sport from 2002-13 with a 33-2-3 (9 kos) and has been selected for multiple boxing halls of fame over the past decade, including the 2017 International Boxing Hall of Fame.

Holm (15-7 MMA) last fought in the UFC 300 match in April 2024, losing to Kayla Harrison after passing the second round, after she split up with the UFC ways this January. Holm appears briefly to continue competing with the Global Fight League before the promotion canceled its debut. Holm was known for winning the UFC Women’s Blowweight Championship in 2015 for Ronda Rousey’s amazing frustration.

In January, the former UFC champion told Uncrowned that she still sometimes believes boxing is a chapter of “unfinished business” in her career.

"If I go back, I definitely want to play those big fights," Holm said. "But before (I went to MMA), boxing didn't get promoted to where it is. It doesn't have as many views as it is now. There must be more female boxing contacts (today). I definitely feel like I have a big part of it that can help bring it to where it is now. But being able to get back to boxing and make a statement in boxing, it would be great."

Vega, 29, is unbeaten in her 10-game career. She recently won a unanimous decision against Rocio Dominguez in September.

Paul vs. Chavez Jr. held at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The event is scheduled to be live on Netflix and has cavalry for women’s boxing champions throughout the card.
