Harvey Weinstein will not be retried in New York

Harvey Weinstein won't testify as part of his criminal trial, although the former tycoon wants to stand up.

On May 29, Weinstein's attorney Arthur Aidala told reporters that Weinstein "considered" this position but his team will make a "play time decision". The team confirmed Monday that he would not stand up because that opened Weinstein to make it inappropriate risk, but he said Weinstein still wanted to share his story.

"He is not hiding, and we don't cover him up. He wants to testify, and we respect that. But the court is not just the truth - it's also the strategy," Weinstein spokesman Juda Engelmayer told The Hollywood Reporter.

Instead, the trial will end the debate on Tuesday, with the defense expected to rest that morning, more than a month after the opening debate began on April 23. Jurors will case. The court does not attend classes on Monday.

Weinstein is retrialing on criminal sexual charges and rape charges Project runwayMiriam Haley claimed he forced oral sex to her in 2006 at a Manhattan apartment and aspiring actress Jessica Mann, who claimed she was raped by Weinstein in 2013 at a Manhattan hotel. The charges are part of the 2020 trial, but Weinstein's conviction was overturned in April 2024.

Former model Kaja Sokola is the new plaintiff in the trial and accused Weinstein of forcibly having oral sex with her in a hotel in 2006.

The round-trip proof about Weinstein reflects the events of his 2020 trial.

According to news reports at that time, the New York trial was repeated at the time, when the defense lawyer was called Talent Agent and manager Thomas Richards Lozano, who was also called the last witness by the defense.

At that time, Weinstein's testimony was also a problem, but he did not stand up at that time.

Lozano gave similar testimony to 2020, saying he traveled to New York with a friend Jessica Mann in March 2013 on suspicion of rape and had breakfast at Doubletree Hotel in Manhattan at Doubletree Hotel in Manhattan at Doubletree Hotel in Manhattan at Doubletree Hotel in Manhattan and breakfast at Doubletree Hotel Habtern in Manhattan. He called breakfast a "friendly conversation" and said he didn't notice anything wrong.

Several events in this trial are repeated, sometimes in one sentence. Earlier on Friday, two court reporters read aloud the transcript of Talita Maia's testimony that picked up the position on February 10, 2020, as Justice Curtis Farber said that Maia said Maya was outside the state and could not be brought to court this time.

In the testimony, Mann's friend Maia testified, initially meeting with Mann in 2013, then joining her at iSCARS and OSCARS parties and watching while staying in touch.

"She seems to really like him," the testimony read. One court reporter served as Maiya, while another court acted as defense attorney, then cross-examination of the prosecutor.
