Star forward Viktor Gyökeres led the CP to win the Portuguese League title for the second consecutive time after Benfica was eliminated on Saturday after being eliminated.

Gyokeres and Pedro Gonçalves achieved goals in a 2-0 victory over Vitoria SC to ensure the championship is in line with the sport's green and black and put their Lisbon rivals as runner-up.

Benfica led 1-1 with 10-Man Braga. After 34 rounds, this gave sports 82 points, while Benfica's sports innings was 80 points.

Goncalves opened in the 53rd edition, and Gyökeres won the 82nd edition when he controlled a loose high ball in the box and dribbled on the defender and goalkeeper, then inserted the goalkeeper in the post office. The Swedish striker lifted his shirt over his head, bent his muscles while yelling as home fans celebrated.

His goals scored 39 goals in 33 league appearances, scoring six more in the Champions League. He is winning the European Golden Boot Award for top scorer in the domestic league.

The victory improved the sport and won the 2024 championship in 29 league goals last season. During the offseason, he was considered one of the hottest prospects in European football. Sources told ESPN that Arsenal is considering taking action for him.

"It's our goal for the whole season and it's incredible to end the last day," Gocres said, adding that his future said, "You never know what will happen."

This is Sporting's 21st league title.

Sporting and Benfica reached the final round of points, but the defending champions had head-to-head finals. Sports only need to match Benfica’s results, which Benfica needs to exercise to trip and then improve their results.

The final day of the championship game and Benfica led 1-1 in the Derby last weekend, when both had a chance to win.

The match between Sporting's and Benfica was played at the same time on Saturday.

Three minutes later, when midfielder João Moutinho received a second yellow card, Braga was reduced to 10 players, but Benfica could not win the winner.

The coalition ended the day when Portugal held national elections.

Sporting and Benfica will meet again in the Portuguese Cup final next weekend. That could be Gyökeres' last game, eager to get his goal, a match for European clubs.

"We want to win the game, but now we want to celebrate right," Gocres said of the Cup final.
