Each producer brings a unique creative perspective to the international market, collectively representing the diversity and ambitions of India's ever-evolving cinema landscape.
In addition to three main researchers, Wif India has also awarded a special certification grant to Shefali Bhushan, an outstanding female producer in the Marathi film industry, further expanding the organization's support for regional voices.
Among the movies and women in the movies and TV International (WIFTI), the Indian chapter, supported by Los Angeles movies (Wif La) and Women, has formed 50 chapters on six continents, aimed at promoting gender equity in entertainment. This launch is an important milestone for the creative community in India and is built on decades of international advocacy media.
“India’s partnership with women in films marks an important step in building a strong, interconnected community that supports women in every aspect of the screen industry,” said Kirsten Schaffer, CEO of the film “Women.” “This scholarship is a key part of ensuring that women have equal opportunities to create high-quality films and television.”
In addition to gaining insight into the international joint production and financing landscape, scholarship recipients will also receive coaching and networking opportunities worldwide. Participants are also responsible for sharing their knowledge with the wider WIF Indian community, creating a multiplier effect that extends the impact of the program beyond the festival itself.
