Indianapolis star columnist Gregg Doyel makes headlines again this week Indiana Pacers In Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals, the New York Knicks suffered a crucial loss.
Pacers missed the chance to secure themselves in the NBA finals in the NBA finals Knicks Thursday night, it was eliminated with a 111-94 victory at home. Pacers forward Pascal Siakam accepted reporters after the loss and praised the Knicks for their game over Indiana.

"They performed better than us, and I just think we've been a great team all year long," he said. "Our strength has been together, working hard, and being together anyway.

But Siakam is under pressure from Indianapolis star columnist Gregg Doyel for how the Knicks "possibly" surpasses the Pacers, leading to an awkward exchange between the two.
"What are you talking about? They're doing harder than we do," Siakam said. "We played harder, but they played harder. What do you mean, I don't understand."

Siakam was obviously troubled by the question asked, and asked Doyel: "Hello, brother?"

Siakam added that he knew Doyel was “looking for something.”
"I tell you, what else do you want me to tell you?"
The interaction continued, prompting Siakam to ask the nearby Pacers media team “Who is this person?”

Thursday night is not the first time Doyle commented in the news room. In May 2024, the veteran columnist was suspended for two weeks by his socket and was covered up on Indiana Hot beats after he made controversial comments about the stars Caitlin Clark.

Doyel used his hands to form a heart symbol for Clark before he asked her a question at the welcome press conference. Ruk asked Doyel if he liked him, and he replied, "I like you here."
Clark said she gestured to her family with her hands “every game,” and Dotel replied, “Start do it to me and we’ll get along.” He also called Clark “that” and “it” while talking to former head coach Mrs. Christie.
