Green Bay Packers submit revisions to Tush's proposal to promote rules

Minneapolis - The Green Bay Packers have revised their rule proposal that will more broadly ban pushing or pulling balls anywhere on the court before banning the votes pushed by Tush.

In the updated language of the proposal, "The offensive player cannot help the runner unless he blocks the opponent alone for him." The packer also eliminated "Immediately at the snapshot" in the updated language.

NFL owners decided to vote on the Packers’ preliminary proposal at the Palm Beach meeting in April and planned to reconsider and vote during the Minneapolis meeting, which began Tuesday and is scheduled to end Wednesday.

Tush Push is a drama promoted by the Super Bowl champion Hawks, where one team ranks one or more players behind quarterbacks to push him against defense, but last year only accounted for 0.28% of the total game. According to ESPN research, the two have combined 163 Tush pushes over the past three seasons, much more than the rest of the NFL combined. The Hawks and Bills not only run the game the most often, but also the most successful. According to ESPN's research, they scored a touchdown or achieved the first drop in 87% of the Tush push attempt, while the rest of the league succeeded with 71% success.

While the initial language seemed to be aimed at bills and eagles, specifically trying to eliminate the push on SNAP immediately, the revised proposal is more extensive to attract more teams to vote for the ban. The revised proposal will make the alliance boil down to the rules followed until 2005.

To pass the Packers’ proposal and ban Tush Push and any other push or pull up the game – the league must get approval from 24 of 32 owners. Sources told ESPN's Kalyn Kahler that the proposal was allocated in April, with 16 favoring Green Bay's proposal and 16 against it.

In addition to other proposed rules, including changes to playoff seed formats, side kicks and other provisions that will allow NFL players to participate in the 2028 Olympic flag football, the proposal should also be voted on in the coming days.
