Golfers apologize after PGA Championship collapses

Wyndham Clark showed a regrettable final round in the PGA Championship last weekend.

The 2023 U.S. Open champion reacted to Sunday’s bad tee, which hit dangerously drove his driver into a sign near the T-shirt box. Clark just bogeyed and then shot his t-shirt on the 16th hole.

Clark did not wait for the shot to land, and then he threw the club violently, which barely missed the volunteer who hit one of the volunteers.

The driver left a noticeable hole in the sign. The driver was also damaged and the club's head was extinguished. Clark's response was to throw a part of the broken club to the side, eventually leaving both drivers in the golf ball in the bunker.

On Monday, Clark said he was “doing nothing” and vowed to make improvements.

"I sincerely apologize yesterday for yesterday's behavior. As a professional, we should be professional even if we are frustrated, and unfortunately, I have made the best performance of my emotions. My actions are totally inconsistent, totally inappropriate, and have made me clear about what I need to work for."

Clark also admitted that he "didn't meet his "high standards."

"I'm keeping my high level and trying to always play with something bigger than myself, and I didn't meet those standards yesterday. I'm really sorry for that. I promise to handle the frustrations of moving forward courses better and hope everyone forgives me in due time."

Clark was a great show at the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, the venue for this year's PGA Championship.

Clark had four consecutive bogeys at one point in the first nine games. He finished the game with a draw of 50th in the rankings.

Scottie Scheffler won the championship to secure third place in his career. Clark fell behind Scheffler.
