Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner said his player won the first major trophy in club history by defeating Manchester City 1-0, giving fans a "moment of life."
Eberechi Eze scored in the first half at Wembley on Saturday, and the Palace dug deeper against Pep Guardiola's soldiers to overcome the game and earned the first full-time European football game.

"We want to write history," Glasner said. "I think now we've written a real history chapter."
The Austrian said the players won only one of the first 13 league games after a bad start to the season.
"I think when you are patient with the club, you can see what you can now and pay tribute to our supporters," he said.
“Because we started very badly, three points after eight games. Usually, fans are impatient and complain.
“Our fans always support us. You can see the work. Even three to four weeks ago, we admitted 10 goals in five days in the city of Newcastle V.

Glasner said the joy of fans celebrating loudly in the Wembley Sunshine was his main draw in the final.
“I think the biggest achievement we can achieve as football players, football managers, the biggest achievement we can achieve is the biggest achievement we can achieve… We can give us thousands of fans, South Londoners, we can give them moments of our lives.
“We can give them good times, we can give them, maybe they have some trouble, some problems at home.
"We gave them a few hours to forget all of this. Just feel happy and celebrated. I think it's the biggest achievement that athletes can do."

Glasner won the Europa League against Eintracht Frankfurt in 2021/22 and can now train his sight again in the match, the palace enters the new territory.
Their only previous mainland competition experience was a homemade match in 1998 at the Intertoto Cup.
"Next year, we're going to start writing a new chapter," Glasner said. "This is the first time I'm playing in Europe. Let's see."
The 12th-ranked Palace in the Premier League also only needs 1 point to set the best club statistics in the game.
"The craziest thing is Monday, and I have to think about the wolf game on Tuesday," Glasner said.

But now, he can drink as the only manager in club history who won major silverware.
“I hope I start slowly finding my party motor and getting the right vibe,” he said.
