Giannis solves confrontation with Tyrese Haliburton's father

Indianapolis - Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo was inspired by his father to exchange with Antetokounmpo as “unrespectful” in Game 5 of the first-round playoff series.

The Pacers celebrated Halliburton's layup with 1.3 seconds left in overtime, which allowed them to win the game with a 119-118 victory on Tuesday night. According to Amberton's father, John, waved the flag at the Bucks and swore him in.

“I believe that the victory remains modest,” Antetokounmpo said after the game, ending Milwaukee’s season. "A lot of people like it, no, when you win the game, you talk - it's a green light that makes you disrespect others. I don't agree."

Antetokounmpo posted a triple-double of 30, 20 and 13 assistants, but Indiana forced two turnovers in the last 29 seconds of overtime, while Haliburton blew up Antetokounmpo, surpassing Antetokounmpo, ending the layup with an 8-0 run and snatched it from the Bucks once.

After a sudden failure, Antetokounmpo lingers, as John Haliburton crashes into the court and starts talking to him. The two met face to face before being evacuated by Bucks players and team security.

“Losing the game, the mood is high,” Antetokounmpo said. “There is a fan – currently I think it’s a fan, but then I realized that it was Teres’ father. I love Teres – I think he’s a great competitor.

"His father came to the floor and showed me his son - a towel, and his face (say) 'That's what we're going to do. We do that.' I think that's very, very disrespectful."

Antetokounmpo said he spoke with John Haliburton after the skirmish, "We're in a good place."

Tyrese Haliburton said he didn't know what was going on until he returned to the locker room, but agreed that his father was out of place and said he talked to him, too.

“I don’t agree with what happened to him,” Halliburton said. “Basketball is basketball, let’s put it on the court. I think he was just excited to see his son win the game and come on the court, but we had a conversation.

"He just had to allow me to play basketball and stay there, and I would come to him to celebrate. But the emotion of the game made me excited. I talked to him. I would talk to Giannis. I don't think my pop music was completely out of there."

This is the second small protest animal PO must be exchanged after Game 5 with Pacers defender Bennedict Mathurin as the two shared a hug, during which time Antetokounmpo placed his hand around Mathurin's neck, leaving the Pacers guarding him while also being separated by teammates.

"This series is a lot of war of words," Halliburton said. "A funny war. A lot of personal things are happening. It's just part of this competition and we've built over the past few years."
