German defense startup ARX Robotics has raised 31 million euros ($35.2 million) in its Series A funding round to drive autonomous defense systems.
The funding is led by German venture capital fund HV Capital and is donated by Omnes Capital, Nato Innovation Fund, Project A and Investment Company Heliad.
HV capital partner Fabian Gruner said: “ARX proves that Europe can establish internationally relevant defense technologies: modern, modern and strategic sovereignty.
“Their rapid deployment in Europe is a testament to the urgency and strength of their products.”
Founded in 2022, ARX Robotics is developing unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) for defense applications.
Its Gereon-RCS family and AI-powered Mithra OS are designed to meet a variety of military needs while ensuring a completely European supply chain.
ARX Robotics' scalable software-defined system has been adopted by six European armed forces.
With the help of new capital, ARX Robotics plans to rate its production capacity between 2025 and 2025 to meet growing demand.
The company also plans to use the proceeds to enhance the AI capabilities of its smart UGVs, expand to other European markets, and modernize more than 50,000 NATO vehicles with its technology.
Marc Wietfeld, co-founder and CEO of ARX Robotics, said: “There is a rapid growth in demand for modular, software-driven defense systems – we are building companies that will define this category in Europe.
“From the core aspect of ARX Robotics, there is a clear mission: to build the next generation of defense infrastructure with scalable robotics and software.
“This new funding is an important milestone and catalyst that enables us to move from successful deployment to industrial scale.”
Recent expansions by ARX Robotics include opening an office in London, England and establishing new production facilities in southern England.
A strategic partnership with Daimler Trucks has also been formed to jointly develop the next generation of military mobility solutions.
Chris O'Connor, a NATO Innovation Fund partner, said: "We are proud of the tremendous progress made by the ARX Robotics team last year, including growing their product suite to address traditional ground fleets, expanding geographic coverage and building a world-class team.
“ARX Robotics has sent its largest Western UGV fleet to Ukraine and we look forward to continuing to support the company as it expands its NATO nation’s presence.”
