George Wendt's last public appearance before his death was definitely wholesome.

In August 2024, the actor, who died at the age of 76, was with him cheers Co-stars Ted Danson and Woody Harrelson Everyone knows your name podcast. In their conversation, the three reviewed the NBC sitcom, which ran 11 seasons from 1982 to 1993.

"My agent called and said, 'You know, dear, they want you to do this cheers,Winter talks about his casting process cheers. "'Now you are not available' because I've participated in other shows (Do grade) Paramount in CBS. Then they left, "But they still want you to come in, but it's really small. I'm going, 'Oh, OK.'"

Winter recalls the initial audition, saying only one word in the pilot, namely "beer." He auditioned for another role at that time, eventually playing the role of Norm Peterson.

Wendt added: "I read it and then they decided to try to figure out where I could perform and then another show was cancelled."

Wendt, Danson, Rhea Perlman, Kelsey Grammer and John Ratzenberger were also reunited at the 75th Emmy Awards ceremony in January 2024 to celebrate the show.

Danson was one of those who paid tribute to Winter on Tuesday Hollywood Reporter"I was very upset to hear that George was no longer with us. I sent all my love to Bernadette and the kids. It took me a long time to get used to it. I love you, George."

NBC also shared in a statement after his death that “watch him walk through that door and head to his bar and can’t wait to say hello to Standard every Thursday night. George Wendt is a big part of the “Cheers” genius who will be missed by millions of geniuses who all love him. We are all of us. Legend.”

Wendt was nominated for an outstanding auxiliary actor in the comedy series for six consecutive years while playing Norm.
