Amazon has set a release date for its college-set "Boys" spinoff "Gen V" and released its first trailer for the new issue.
The first three episodes of Season 2 will debut on September 17. Additional episodes will drop to October 22 on Wednesday's weekly season.
According to Amazon’s description of “Gen V” Season 2, “As the rest of the United States adapted to Holland’s iron fist, back to Gorkin University, the mysterious New New Dean preached a course that promises to make students stronger than ever. Cate and Sam are the heroes of celebration. There is a secret program that will be learned from both humans and on campus and on campus that goes back to the establishment of Gorkin University that may be bigger than they realize.
The eight-episode first season of “Gen V” starred Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau, the late Chance Perdomo as Andre Anderson, Lizze Broadway as Emma Meyer, Maddie Phillips as Cate Dunlap, London Thor as Jordan Li, Derek Luh as Jordan Li, Asa Germann as Sam Riordan and Sean Patrick Thomas as Polarity. Linklater joins the cast as Dean Cipher.
"Gen V" Season 1 airs from September 29 to November. 3, 2023, and quickly renewed its second season.
After Perdomo's sudden death in a motorcycle crash in March 2024, Amazon confirmed that his role in Andre Anderson will not be recast and that the planned plot of Season 2 will be adjusted and production will be delayed.
In the trailer for "Gen V" Season 2, Perdomo's true death is angering his son's disappearance by showing Andre's father, Pallity (Thomas), at the end of Season 1, and Pallerity asks Dean Cipher to come from Dean Cipher, his "what really happened" to him.
"V Gen V" was created by Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters. Fazekas serves as the show host and executor with "Boy" performers Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Schnauz, Steve Boyum and Brant Engelstein. The co-executors include Loreli Alanís, Gabriel Garcia and Jessica Chou.
The "Boy" spin-off is produced by Sony Pictures and Amazon Studios, and is partnered with Kripke Enterprises, Point Gray Pictures and Original Films.
