Gaza Humanitarian Foundation closes Israeli limited food distribution center allowed in Gaza
The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) announced on Tuesday that it would stop the limited food distribution business allowed by Israeli authorities in the center of the Gaza Strip for one day. It said it plans to resume Thursday after safety measures are taken.
Israeli troops warned Gaza residents on Tuesday about traveling to the distribution center after at least 27 Palestinians were killed by Israeli fires as they waited for food in places where the U.S.-backed GHF set up.
Israeli authorities have been imposing the use of GHF to distribute food, rather than any agency that traditionally operates in Gaza. On Tuesday, 21 food trucks were distributed. During the ceasefire earlier this year, 600 trucks were required per day to meet the needs of the Palestinian population. Israel has been locking down aid and food into the region for weeks.
Key Events
Local health authorities said an Israeli air strike in school housing in a displaced Palestinian family killed at least 10 people, including children, on Wednesday.
Reuters reported that residents said the Israeli military escalated air strikes and tank shellings on part of Khan Younis, the day after lowering leaflets, ordered residents to leave their homes and head west. During the conflict, many Palestinians were displaced on multiple occasions and were forced to live in temporary camps.
Earlier today, the IDF announced that a soldier was killed in battle in the northern Gaza Strip.
Israeli troops said 420 service personnel have been killed inside Gaza since ground operations began on October 27, 2023.

In today’s first edition of the newsletter, my colleague Archie Bland studied the situation with Amjad al-Shawa, where Israeli authorities imposed the food distribution process of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation:
At least 31 Palestinians were killed after Israeli troops opened fire at a food distribution center in Gasarafa on Sunday. Three other Palestinians were killed in Israeli fires on Monday. Yesterday, 27 people were killed after Israeli troops opened fire again.
If there is any doubt about the shortcomings of the new system in a new system run by Israel-supported foundations rather than the new system run by the United Nations or aid organizations, it must have been eliminated. Last night, the Foundation said all of its sites would be closed today - and appointed a new executive chairman: evangelical Christian pastor and loyal allies of Donald Trump.
Palestinians – or those who can reach the scene – are now facing an impossible option, as UN Human Rights Director Volker Türk said on Tuesday: “Diet from the risk of starvation or killing while trying to get the meager food available.” He added that the attacks on civilians constitute war crimes.

Israel strikes targets within Syria
Israel has carried out new air strikes in Syria, claiming that it targeted Syria's military weapons facilities after the rocket fire was targeted at the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.
"The Syrian regime is responsible for the development within Syria and will continue to bear the consequences as long as hostile activities continue from its territory," the IDF said in a statement.
The recently installed Syrian government's foreign ministry said Syria "is not interested in posing a threat to either party in the region" and claimed to have suffered casualties from an Israeli strike in Daraa.
On Tuesday, two rockets crossed Israeli-controlled territory. Israel occupied the heights of Golan from Syria in 1967 and has occupied it since then.
At least 10 Palestinians were killed in Israel's attack on a refugee displaced person Khan YunisReuters reported that Hamas affiliated media was cited.
