Florida Baseball ended the regular season with a 9-3 win over Alabama State's crimson trend, which gave the Gators a sixth-game winning streak to complete the schedule. The win at home scored an overall record of 37-19 and reached 0.500 in the Southeast Conference team against fellow teams entering the playoffs.
Freshman right-handed pitcher Aidan King has won three honors so far during the 2025 campaign, once again becoming the Orange and Blue hero of the day, throwing six 1/3 innings on six hits and two walks while winning three (one win) while hitting eight solid eight Bama batsmen. Righty Luke McNellie threw the last 2 2/3 frames, was not allowed to hit and did not run when walking and hitting the batsman.
Bobby Boser scored 2-4 with 3 RBIs and Ty Evans, both 2-2, both crank home runs and accumulated multiple hits as a representative of loneliness during his senior days in Florida. Brody Donay also waved a hot bat again, and his own would be 3-2.
The Gators earned twelve hits and five free bases with six strikeouts. They left up to 10 runners on the base, but fortunately, they paved a lot of runs along the way.
Florida won 17 of its last 22 regular season games (including 14 of the SEC games) and ended with an 11-11 conference record, with the Gators being the first SEC team to enter the NCAA Championship 2-10 or worse since the conference expansion in 1992. UF started the league schedule with a 1-11 record.
“Often you see someone making a mistake and then it’s a four-legged walk and the bureau is away from you, but he just put it together, honestly, to keep that calm,” O'Sullivan noted.
“He showed him his maturity, his concentration and all these kinds of things, so he’s been beyond his years, so it’s two great starts.
"Well, we obviously need to bring Justin (Nardo) back, which is really the day-to-day with him, his fingers, hopefully we can bring Colby (Sheldon) back, that's what we're shooting for. It's just a lot of interruptions. We got the guys around, but they're hanging there," he provided.
"I ended up telling the team that you might need to take some time to review what just happened. It was just 1-11, and ended up with a 15 win, and no one has done that since the league since 92, but obviously our work isn't done yet. But obviously our work isn't over yet. At least we put ourselves in the discussion, but we'll see enough.
"In a sense, they are both very, very similar. I mean, I mean, they work hard and rarely make mistakes, or at least mentally. They have always been a big part of where we are, let's say that."
“The day in high school is always a bit bittersweet and you want to see them get recognized, rightly so, but like a portion of you are frustrated, right?
"Hopefully we have another chance to play here. I'm not quite sure what we need to do, but hopefully this is not the last time they played on the court."
"Again, I love those guys, too. I mean, there are a lot of stories in this whole thing, Billy was at Clemson last year and we had a chance to see him pitching on Superman, and I know he really liked his time here," he began.
"And Pierce, we can talk about that all day. Back from all the hurts he suffered, yesterday 3 2/3, strike 10, not going to go anyone. Let him reach about 67. So to end it, we have a kind-hearted guy, we have five opportunities to innovate in the playoffs, I think of it all, I think of it all, I think of it, it's a change, I think of it, it's a change thing, it's a change.
