The most-watched non-Fox News program on a cable news channel in December was MSNBC's "The Rachel Maddow Show," which ended at No. 401 with 1.4 million viewers on Dec. 9.

The most-watched CNN program was the December 9 edition of "CNN Newsroom," which averaged 700,000 viewers and ranked 682nd among cable news programs.

Fox News often dominates cable news ratings, but sweeping the top 400 programs is seen as a unique milestone that shines a spotlight on MSNBC and CNN's efforts to attract viewers following President-elect Donald Trump's victory.

Fox News Channel dominated its rivals in 2024, ending the year with its highest cable news audience share since 2015. FNC averaged 1.5 million full-day viewers and 2.4 million prime-time viewers, leading all cable programs and ranking first in both categories. Nine years in a row.

Compared with 2023, Fox News' total daytime ratings increased by 21% and prime-time ratings increased by 30%. Fox News has ranked No. 1 in cable news in total daytime ratings and prime-time ratings for 23 consecutive years.
